JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Uplift Counselors are vital members of the University Office for Diversity and Inclusion (UODI) team who, under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Director for Student Access, Success, and Engagement, serve as representatives for UODI, serve as role models to prospective Carolina students, and support the operations of the Project Uplift program.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be a full-time undergraduate student, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and be in good disciplinary standing with the University.
COMPENSATION: This is a paid opportunity. Project Uplift Counselors will be paid $400 for participating in the PU Counselor Retreat and working all three PU sessions. The session dates for 2023 Project Uplift are June 3, June 10, and June 23.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a positive role model for prospective Carolina students
- Be responsible for fostering community, inclusion, and belonging among program participants through interaction, engagement, and facilitation
- Serve as source of information regarding UNC-Chapel Hill, campus resources, and student life
- Assist with administrative tasks as delegated by UODI Student Access, Success, and Engagement Staff
