Women ADVANCE Leadership (WAL)
The University Office for Diversity and Inclusion has partnered with Targeting Equity in Access to Mentoring (TEAM) ADVANCE and the Center for Faculty Excellence to support the facilitation of the 2021-2022 Women ADVANCE Leadership program. TEAM ADVANCE (NSF Award 1760187) promotes accessible, equitable, and effective mentoring across the University, with emphasis on supporting women of color and white women in STEM fields.
Women ADVANCE Leadership is a workshop series to encourage and support mid-career faculty (associate professor and higher, tenured and fixed-term) seeking to enhance their skills and advance to senior leadership, research, and teaching positions. Participants join a multidisciplinary cohort of mid-career faculty to attend a monthly Women ADVANCE Leadership Workshop, engage with Senior Women Leaders on campus, and conduct or plan a change project.
Workshop topics include:
- Leading with Values
- Naming Your Strengths
- The Power of Feedback
- The Art of Influencing
- Leading Change
- Networking to Develop Mentors
- Self-Care and Well-Being
- Moving Forward with Vision
- Project Showcase
