Chancellor Carol L. Folt, center, shares a light moment with students at the Senior Bell Tower Climb at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

At UNC-Chapel Hill, we recognize that the pipeline to higher education begins as early as grade school. Inspiring young students that there is an academic future for them beyond high school is vital to their success. This is why we start our outreach by partnering with local elementary schools to have our Carolina Millennial Scholars Program scholars read to children in their classrooms. For middle school students, CMSP scholars interact with males from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds on campus to give them a first glimpse of campus life on Tar Heel Preview Day.

Prospective students, many of whom are already considering continuing their education beyond high school, have numerous opportunities to enjoy the college experience at Carolina: Summer Enrichment Programs (Project Uplift, NC Renaissance, Uplift Plus), along with High School Honors Day, Expanding the Circle, and Nuestra Carolina.

Admitted students who are pondering their choice are invited to participate in the many programs available as they finalize their decision: Decision Day; Many Nations, One Carolina; ACE (for first years and transfer students); and Dia de Bienvenida.

Numerous awards and scholarships are available to help make your academic journey easier. For more information about these resources, please click here.
