Workshop: Queer Performativities and Performance: Models from About Face Theatre – Visiting Artist, Eric Rosen

March 21, 2019 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

As co-founder of Chicago’s About Face Theatre 23 years ago, Eric Rosen helped create one of the nation’s most celebrated LGBTQ-identified theaters and one of Chicago’s most respected theater companies. Rosen will share case studies from his career at About Face, including his company’s groundbreaking work with LGBTQ youth and their allies that began in 1999 and continues today. Students in this workshop will be asked to bring their own personal stories about gender, sexual identity, and intersections with other markers of difference that they feel are appropriate to share with the group.

Space is limited.  To reserve you spot email Joseph Megel at

Eric Rosen’s residency is supported by the Department of Communication, the Beverly Whitaker Long Fund for Performance Excellence and the Provost Committee on LGBTQ life.
