The Ethics of Now: Conversation with Nikole Hannah-Jones

March 29, 2019 @ 7:00 pm

The Kenan Institute for Ethics will host The Ethics of Now, featuring New York Times award-winning investigative reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones and Duke History Professor Adriane Lentz-Smith.

As a journalist, Nikole Hannah-Jones writes in the fierce tradition of muckracker and civil rights icon Ida B. Wells. Tackling subjects as vexed as segregation, education and gentrification, she guides us through the thicket of policy and personal decision-making, structure and agency that have brought us to where we are.

The Ethics of Now is a series of conversations between Duke historian Adriane Lentz-Smith and a range of artists, advocates and authors that explore the ethical challenges facing the Durham and Duke communities.
