The Carolina Forum: “Saving Democracy”

The Department of Public Policy will host The Carolina Forum: “Saving Democracy, with Jean Parvin Bordewich.

She has spent her life in and around politics, including 20 years as a congressional staff member. At the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation in California, she works with nonprofits to strengthen democracy in the U.S., focusing on congress. Before joining Hewlett in 2014, she served for more than five years as staff director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, the committee that oversees the operations of the Senate, legislative branch agencies and presidential inaugurations.

The Carolina Forum fosters nonpartisan discussion and deliberation. Its mission is to educate and engage students in a dialogue about key policy issues in the U.S. and around the globe
