Teaching in Challenging Times: Talking About Silent Sam

November 9, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

The Center for Faculty Excellence will host Teaching in Challenging Times: Talking About Silent Sam.

On November 15th, Chancellor Carol L. Folt will announce the new location of the Silent Sam Confederate monument. This announcement is sure to spark debate and differences of opinion across campus. In anticipation, the CFE invites you to join us for a conversation on best practices for engaging your students in meaningful, civil, and honest discussion about this controversial topic, both in and out of the classroom.

This event will be co-facilitated by Dr. Raul Necochea, associate professor, Department of Social Medicine, and CFE staff member Dr. Emily Boehm.
