Radical Stillness: Reading Velocity in Yiddish Anti-Fascist Poetics
October 28 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Join the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies for a talk that examines the poetics of speed, stillness, and velocity in the Yiddish poetry, social theory, and manifestos of Perets Markish, Tsilye (Celia) Dropkin, Debora Vogel (Dvoyre Fogel), and others. Placing non-mobility at the center of Modernist forms reveals the poets’ concern with disability, domesticity, and critique of war.
Registration link is below. The Zoom link will be sent by Eventbrite to registered guests a couple days prior to the event and again on the afternoon of the event.
