Racial Literacies: Confronting White Nationalism

The Racial Literacies group will hold it’s final session to discuss “Confronting White Nationalism.”

Panelists will include the following:

  • Cortland Gililam, PhD candidate, School of Education
  • Juliane Hammer, associate professor, Religious Studies
  • Allison DeMarco, faculty, School of Social Work, scientist, Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute, local activist

In preparation for this meeting, it is recommended that participants listen to a recent episode on Fresh Air, “The New Zealand Massacre and the Global Resurgence of Extremism,” in which J.J. Berger studies the online activity of extremists. He warns that white nationalism is  growing phenomenon worldwide.

Food will be served. Please bring your own beverage.
