The Mindfulness Center at The UNC Program on Integrative Medicine will present a free self-care webinar on “Misunderstanding and Prejudice, Inequity, and Racism: Using Mind-Body Medicine to Free us from Their Legacy.”

James Gordon, MD., Founder & The Center for Mind-Body Medicine’s Executive Director.
Rita-Anita Linger and James Gordon will explore together the ways that mind-body medicine can be used to promote better understanding among people who have been separated from and fearful of one another as well as those who have suffered significant trauma from racism, inequities, and prejudice.

Rita-Anita is a Human Scientist, whose life’s work is steeped in holistic justice, equity, inclusion, health and wellness. For over 30 years, she has been working within diverse communities to build capacity for an enhanced quality of life, self-transformation and empowerment. She serves as Faculty and Program Developer at the University of North Carolina, Integrative Medicine and Rehabilitation Program, and is the Executive Director of Recovery Communities of North Carolina, a statewide recovery support organization.
