Mary Junck Research Colloquium: Berkley Hudson

November 14, 2018 @ 1:30 pm

The Mary Junck Research Colloquium series resumes Wednesday, Nov. 14, when Berkley Hudson, associate professor at the University of Missouri, returns to Carroll Hall. Hudson, a 2003 MJ-school doctoral alumnus, will discuss his three decades of work to preserve, archive, research, exhibit and publish the photography of O.N. Pruitt.

More than 88,000 negatives remain of Pruitt’s images documenting a visual history of inequality and a broad range of life around Columbus, Mississippi, from 1915 to 1960. Hudson will talk about his work with the Pruitt archive from noon to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Freedom Forum Conference Center (Carroll 305).

Admission is free, and lunch is provided.

Anyone interested can register here to attend. To help with catering plans, please sign up as soon as possible if you plan to attend.
