La Conferencia’s purpose is to provide a space for Latinx students, staff, faculty, and their allies to network and create a discourse about access, social development, education, positive communication, and cross-cultural understanding in a Latinx-centered setting in the Triangle area. The aim is to develop this into space for people to convene annually to have critical dialogue, and exchange of information in order to empower the next generation of Latinx thinkers.
La Conferencia takes place over three days:
- April 1, 6–9 p.m. – IN-PERSON: network with other conference participants and local professionals at a UNC Baseball game
- April 2, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m. VIRTUAL: knowledge-sharing and building, consisting of four blocks of sessions and keynote speaker Ricky Hurtado
- April 3, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. IN-PERSON – final connection opportunity over a farewell mid-morning snack break.
Suggested donation of $15
