Inaugural Paul A. Godley Health Equity Symposium
March 5, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
This inaugural Health Equity Symposium will celebrate the contributions of Dr. Paul Godley to the UNC School of Medicine in health equity research, and workforce diversity and inclusion. Dr. Godley became the UNC School of Medicine’s first Vice Dean for Diversity and Inclusion in 2017. In this role, Dr. Godley led the School of Medicine’s efforts to build a diverse and inclusive work and learning environment. Prior to this role, he served as Executive Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Associate Dean for Finance and Administration.
A full day of presentations and panels on a variety of topics, including our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, community partnerships, and updates from ACCLAIM graduates and Dr. Godley’s collaborators is on the agenda. Additionally, Otis Brawley, MD, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Oncology and Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University will join us for a keynote address.
The event begins at 9:30 a.m. in Bondurant G100 and concludes with the keynote at 4 p.m. in the Kirkland Auditorium at the Adams School of Dentistry. A reception will follow that session.
