History of Racial Terror and Lynchings in Orange County

Paris Miller, scholar and community organizer, presents on the history of racial terror lynchings in Orange County. Moderated by Dianne Jackson of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP. Joining the panel will be Dr. Seth Kotch, Director of the Southern Oral History Program at UNC, and high school students with their teacher.

The Light of Truth symposia collection is co-sponsored by the Orange County Community Remembrance Coalition, Chapel Hill/Carrboro Branch of the NAACP, Center for the Study of the American South, Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Journalism, Carolina K-12, Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History, Carolina Women’s Center, #BlackOutLoudUNC, Southern Cultures, and Hussman School of Journalism and Media at UNC.
