Hari Kondabolu in conversation on “Global Circulations of Indian Brownface and Brown Voice”

Comedian Hari Kondabolu will be joined by Professor Kumi Silva (Communications, UNC), and Kellen Hoxworth (Theatre Studies, Florida State University), moderated by Michelle Robinson (American Studies, UNC) to discuss stereotypes and mischaracterizations of South Asians in the media in the US and beyond. They will unpack the ways that brown communities have been presented, examine the global roots of these images, and share their own research and activism on this issue.

This event is free and open to the Carolina community, but it will be ticketed by the Carolina Union due to limited space. Register below to reserve your spot.
