Domestic Orientation! Conference
February 26, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
One event on February 27, 2021 at 10:30 am
The Campus Y will hold Domestic Orientation! (DO!). The conference is catered towards students and community leaders involved in social justice work. DO! offers professional development workshops, keynote speakers and community building spaces. This year, the theme is allyship and the aim is to expand our definition of allyship beyond the popular conception of “woke” white folks to foster an intersectional, community-wide approach.
The keynote speakers will be Joyce Malanda (’20) and Nesreen Abu Khalaf (’20), both former members of the Campus Y. They will share their insights on allyship and community building. The event will also feature a community-building workshop, skills-building sessions and networking opportunities.
This year, the annual conference will be held over two days on Zoom (Friday, Feb. 26, 5:30–7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 27, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.).
Domestic Orientation! is put together by student leaders on the Campus Y Executive Board and Bonner Leaders Program.
