DOCSpeaks: “A New Power is Rising” (Chris Faison)

DOCSpeaks is an iteration of the Dental and Oral health Community Scholars (DOCS) Scholars Program featuring TEDTalk-length cogent talks that intersect with cultural competence, anti-racism and healthcare. This session, “A New Power is Rising,” will be presented by Chris Faison, MA.
Christopher Faison was raised in Mount Olive, North Carolina and Gloucester, Virginia. Faison is currently finishing a PhD in Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis at North Carolina State University. He has served as an assistant director for federal loans in the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid at UNC-CH. Faison is currently completing a national fellowship with the American Express Leadership Academy at Campaign for Black Male Achievement. He seeks to broaden the horizons of young black male career aspirations by illuminating other avenues beyond the School to Prison Pipeline and paths towards professional sports.
All sessions will feature 20 minute talks, followed by a 20 minute Q and A.
