Cultivating Mindfulness & Racial Justice

September 22, 2020 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Mindful UNC will host “Cultivating Mindfulness & Racial Justice,” with presenter Bibi Gnagno, JD.

Bibi is the Director of Academic Engagement for Global and Civic Opportunities at Duke University’s Academic Advising Center. Prior to that role, Bibi was the Coordinator for Student Development at Duke University’s Women’s Center, where she focused on gender equity through the creation of experiential programming and training that emphasized community building, empowerment, men’s engagement, activism, and civic engagement. Currently, Bibi is also an educator, wellness advocate, and a certified Koru Mindfulness instructor and trainer. Her work in the community explores telling stories through film using a social justice lens. While completing a law degree, Bibi embraced mindfulness at a deeper level to cope with the daily stress of school. Bibi has taught mindfulness classes at the university level and infuses mindfulness in her interactions with students. She also leads workshops on wellness through reflection, movement, and healing foods.
