UNC-Chapel Hill Black students, staff, faculty and alumni are invited to participate in Black Community Convening: Organizing for our Needs.

Agenda:

6:05 p.m. – Welcome and purpose of event (Dawna Jones, CBC Chair)

6:10 p.m. – Opening Poem (Cortland Gilliam)

6:15 p.m. – Speakers: What is currently being advocated for?

    • CBC (Trish Harris)
    • BSM (Tamiya Troy)
    • Commission for Equality & Equity (Lamar Richards)
    • Roadmap for Equity (Kia Caldwell)
    • Institutional Diversity & Inclusion (Sibby Anderson-Thompkins)

6:30 p.m. – Space for other community advocates who may want to add efforts not included by speakers

6:40 p.m. – Open Forum: Questions and comments from the audience

7:00 p.m. – Breakout groups for discussion and next steps

7:20 p.m. – Closing remarks
