Army Veteran Earl Granville: “The Weight We Carry: Resiliency After Diversity”

Carolina Veterans Resource Center and The Office of the Dean of Students will sponsor Army veteran, adaptive athlete and mental health advocate Earl Granville, who will speak on resiliency after adversity. The nine-year veteran served in support of Operation Join Forge in Bosnia, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. While in Afghanistan, his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb which resulted in the amputation of his left leg through the knee. He became a competitive athlete in snow boarding, ice sled hockey, GoRuck endurance Challenges and Spartan Races, as well as the Boston and New York marathons. Earl also speaks publicly about the importance of finding help in battling mental adversity after the passing of his twin brother,
