A Celebration of Community: Black Poetry and Power

May 22 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Carolina Public Humanities will host a celebration and exploration of Black Poetry. Thanks to the generous support of our community, this program is FREE and open to the public—contributions are welcome!

The event will include a discussion of the role and importance of verse in the black community, the interplay between common themes and individual voices, as well as poetry readings from three important local poets: Tyree Daye, Crystal Simone Smith, and CJ Suitt.
