IAH Zoom Talks Series: “Who Draws the World: Why Arts and Humanities are Crucial in the COVID-19 Crisis”

Dr. Judith Butler will discuss why the arts and humanities are crucial in the COVID-19 crisis, starting from viewing mourning as a political act amid the pandemic and its disparities. Dr. Butler is an author and Maxine Elliott Professor in the Department of Comparative Literature and the Program of Critical Theory at the University of California, Berkeley. She will be joined in conversation by Florence Dore, professor and director of graduate studies in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Andrew Perrin, professor of sociology and director of the Institute for the Arts and Humanities at UNC-Chapel Hill.
