High School Student Programs
Making your decision about where you’ll attend college is challenging. Will you feel welcome at the University of your choice? At UNC-Chapel Hill, every student is a part of the Carolina Community. From the moment you begin your academic journey, there are programs specifically designed to make you feel part of the campus family.
UODI’s recruitment and outreach programs reflect UNC’s commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive academic community. We offer on- and off-campus programs to introduce Carolina and the college experience to under-served communities, including African American, American Indian, Asian American, Latinx, low income, rural, and first-generation college students.
Programs and Initiatives
As a prospective student, you have many exciting opportunities to get to know the friendly, inclusive atmosphere of Carolina. On-campus opportunities for students who want to learn more about UNC include our Summer Enrichment Institutes. These programs offer uniquely interactive, experiential on-campus experiences designed to increase leadership strengths and promote academic success:
In addition to the Summer Enrichment Institutes, UODI offers Behind the Scenes at UNC (formerly Target Tar Heel), an opportunity for high school students to meet with UNC student ambassadors to get an inside track to the University, receive information from Undergraduate Admissions and connect with a current student.
UODI also offers special tours for elementary, middle and high school students, as well as community groups. If you are interested in scheduling a special visit, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-843-6086.
