The well-being of our students, their families, faculty and staff is our top priority. Because of that, the University Office for Diversity & Inclusion’s leadership is following the guidance provided by the University and the UNC System in response to COVID-19.
Based on that guidance, we have made the following decisions regarding our summer educational programs (Project Uplift, Uplift PLUS and North Carolina Renaissance):
At this time, we have decided not to host the traditional Project Uplift program. Instead, we will offer a 2-day virtual experience, free of cost to everyone who has already applied. These sessions will tentatively be hosted on the following dates:
Session 1: May 27–28
Session 2: June 3–4
Session 3: June 10–11
To accommodate this new format, registration will now open by the end of April. You will receive an email at that time inviting you to register for one of the three (3) sessions listed above. We appreciate your patience.
We are exploring the option of hosting a virtual experience for Uplift PLUS at a reduced cost. We will make admission decisions and may open registration by the end of April. A final decision about the program’s format will be available by the end of May.
We are also exploring virtual options for NC Renaissance. We will make a final decision about the program’s format and may open registration by the end of May.
Further updates will be communicated via email as COVID-19 continues to unfold. We appreciate your flexibility as we prioritize the health of you, your family and our community.
