The first Carolina Conversations event for the spring 2019 semester will be “Weaving a Sense of Belonging in the Search Committee Process.”
The session will address the dysfunctions that typically plague this valuable recruitment committee as it does the work of vetting candidates for positions on behalf of the University. Whether participants have served, been asked to serve or hope to serve on a search committee, this lively interaction will give them insight into how best to navigate the process.
This month’s Carolina Conversations session will be facilitated by Dr. G. Rumay Alexander, who serves as the University’s Associate Vice Chancellor/Chief Diversity Officer, Professor in the School of Nursing and Chairperson of the Faculty Governance’s Diversity and Community Committee.
The event will take place on Thursday, January 17, 4:30-6 p.m., at the Freedom Forum Conference Center, located in room 305 at Carroll Hall.
All faculty, staff and students are urged to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
